Letters of Offer and Mixed Letters

Next Video: Guided Practice: Informal Letters

It's nice to give people advice, but sometimes people want something more than words - they want ACTION. They need a lift to the airport, or help moving home, or even just for you to post a letter for them. But, even though offering to help people is a lovely thing to do, it's not always easy! In this video, we will learn how to:

  • go beyond shall when we make offers
  • specify exactly HOW we can help the other person
  • make it easy for people to accept our offer (because English people are strange and find it difficult to accept help)
  • use present continuous + anyway in our offers
  • use anyway correctly
